“OFFICIAL FORD IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CAMP”

Kona, Hawaii. October 6-8th, 2007

 

Join us the weekend prior to the Ford Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. Internationally renowned Ironman coach Lance Watson will lead the camp, and we will invite top pros to share their tips and inspiration as well, including 10 time Ironman Champion Lisa Bentley.

 

This camp is available for competitors and non-competitors in the 2007 championship event. It will serve as a perfect tune up to ensure success for participants of the Ford Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, and provide invaluable education about conquering the Kona course. The camp is designed to give the participants the knowledge to reach their individual goals and is an absolute must for any triathlete racing in the world championship on the Big Island in 2007 or future years, Non-racers can stay to spectate and learn about the world championship event.

 

 

Race Preparation Training: We will offer supported swim, bike and run sessions on critical portions of the course one week out from the race. Run in the historic Energy Lab run and bike the crucial climb to Hawi. Options will be provided to suit your taper needs. Non-racers can train longer if desired. Feel free to consult the LifeSport coaches there if you have questions. This preparation training is a strategy used by LifeSport’s top athletes to ensure their success at Ironman events.

 


 

 

 

 

Lectures and Instruction: Instruction will focus on strategies for pacing and racing the course, dealing with the climate and various conditions, as well and nutrition and mental strategies, including:

 

- Ocean swimming strategies in non-wetsuit, choppy conditions and a mass start.
- Riding in the heat, hills and extreme winds.
- Running well in humid, tropical conditions.

- Nutritional considerations for Ironman.

The cost will be $495. Space is limited and all levels are welcome.

  • All organized workouts are designed to familiarize athletes with the Ironman course and to provide athletes with solutions to any racing issues / questions they might have.
  • All workouts will be vehicle-supported and fluids/nutrition will be provided where appropriate.
  • This camp is designed to provide world class racing information and not build fitness. There will be options for those who want to train more.
